I’m back! Well, kinda. We had a few big changes happen at our house last week. So forgive me if it takes a couple weeks before I’m fully back.
We had a big week last week. It all started months ago with a little announcement from Ellie.
After a few anxiety filled months Monday June 25th finally arrived.
We arrived at the Hospital around 6am. I held Ellie hand to help calm her nerves or maybe it was Ellie who held my hand to help calm my nerves.
Once we walked through those doors everything moved quickly. Next thing I knew I was laying in a bed having my IV hooked up. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate needles?
Ellie quickly saw I was upset and came over to hold my hand.
Seeing her face in the photo makes me so sad. You can see she wasn’t happy with the IV situation either.
After the IV was in and the tears were gone it was time for Ellie to head off to her first day of Kindergarten Summer Camp. I told you it was a big week for the Rock On Mommies household, but it was a really big week for one little girl. Ellie had a full week!
At 8:25am June 25th, 2012 we welcomed Zachery Andrew Levi Seid into the world. All 6lbs 6oz’s of him.
The rest of the morning is pretty much a blur. Phone’s dinging with Facebook messages, tweets, and text messages congratulating us on Zach. The days starts to clear up around 4 when Ellie arrived back at the hospital to meet Zach for the first time.
Then there was the Snooki moment…
Zach came out a little to pale for me so I requested we tan him up. Ok, fine, baby Zach was a little yellow so he needed to spend 24 hours on the bili blanket. Crazy how much technology has changed in 5 years! We did not have this blanket for Ellie. We stuck her under the natural light as much as possible and hoped her levels would come down.
So after a couple nights in the hospital it was time to head home. While Zach and I have been resting, Ellie and Daddy have been taking on the world. I told you it was a really big week for Ellie.
Daddy took off the training wheels!
With in 15 minutes of those wheels coming off Ellie was doing this…
Crazy! I couldn’t be more proud of Ellie and she handled all the changes in her life this week. She’s growing up to be such an amazing little person!
Again, thank you all for all well wishes! They really have meant so much to me!

Super duper sweet. That girl is one tough cookie like her mama, with those subtle delicate moments sprinkled in for good measure too.

Congratulations Ellie, that is so fabulous. I’ve made it my mission to get the training wheels off Miss M’s bike by the end of the summer, maybe Ellie should show her how it’s done
.
And I know I’ve already said it but congratulations on baby Zach, he’s absolutely precious. Much love to all of you. xo

Now you have me crying!!!
Well, we’ve entered the “terrible two’s,” a stage I refused to accept as legitimate until a few weeks ago. I’m still unclear as to whether it refers to the terribleness of a 2-year-old who now can act out, refuse things, throw tantrums, etc. or of 2 twins ganging up on their single mother. In other news: I STOPPED KEEPING MY FOOD/SLEEP/POOP CHART, and I’m just fine. Progress. Ora now sometimes falls asleep standing up. A few weeks ago, she started SCREAMING whenever I left the room at naptime or bedtime, so now she is the focus of the cuddle routine, where Rose used to demand all of the attention. I’ve started COUNTING – when I put them down, when they are having a tantrum or otherwise get frustrated, when it’s time to take turns – and it really seems to help. Either they are distracted by the numbers, like to count with me, forget about whatever it was that they were fussing about by the time we get to 10, or they actually get the taking turns thing. But they are definitely learning to count. Our “Busy Baby” book shows Mickey Mouse with 5 bubbles, and I count out loud “1-2-3-4-5.” Last week, Rose started saying after that – ALL BY HERSELF – “6-7-8-9-10.” So cool! Every night, after the bath, we watch a DVD (usually one of the Baby Einstein series) and drink milk (leche) before brushing teeth and going to bed. The girls have only wached one movie, Tangled, which they call “Tangled movie” (as in, “What do you want to watch tonight?” “Tangled movie!”). This morning, I was reading a Tinker Bell book to Rose, and she saw the picture of blonde Tinker Bell on the cover and said “Tangled movie!” thinking it was Rapunzel. It must be so confusing. I guess we don’t know that many blondes. I said to myself out loud “I need to write that down” and Rose repeated to me: “Write that down.” Ora makes beautiful picnics with the LeapFrog picnic baskets they got for their birthdays!
