We can’t Be “SuperWomen” all the time, can we?

Sometimes the best thing you can is order a pizza, rest with your loved ones and call it a day. And on that said day, I think all of you moms should give yourself a pat on the back for being so super, you still managed to pick up the phone and place the order.

I worked a 12 hour day for the first time in a long time. I realized it’s exactly like it used to be.  Once you get passed the first 6 hours, it all feels the same.  There’s this state of Zen where you are so focused on the chore at hand, all the other noise that usually bombards, slips back to where it should be, in its natural state of unimportance.  No emails.  No texts.  No calls. No gossip.  No drama.

I was so tired when I got home, all I wanted to do was have someone else take care of dinner and toss me in the shower.  Honestly, I was almost too tired to stand.  But out of habit, I chose to do it all myself,  managed to get a second wind, get it together and have a great night.

For some reason, I imagine this tired state of superwoman being parallel to motherhood. You spend so much time doing things for others and working 24/7, that once you get in the zone; you are in the zone, period – end of story.  And you probably could in fact, do everything…  Effortlessly too, of course!  At least I hope that’s how it is.  Honestly, the idea of how much work it is going to be can be pretty intimidating.

Jennifer has written 11 post in this blog.

I was mommy to dogs. A so called mommy-to-be practicing with pets first. In that unique place all you mommies once were, I was terrified of the responsibility of kids, but excited by the idea at the same time. You followed along with me on my journey from carefree newlywed to motherhood. Now I am a mom and it is one amazing, crazy ride. I went from VIP at the clubs, to VIP at the Zoo!
