The De-Decorating Continues – Going from clutter to beach simple

Slowly, but surely the de-decorating of my house continues.   Taking my home from a decorating mishmosh to Beach Simple.  All along the way Tom from TWF Designs is holding my hand, giving me advice, shopping with me, helping me with colors and everything else you need for a Re-Design.   I couldn’t do any of this without him!

I’m slowly taking my wine/Italian style kitchen to beach simple.  What I’d really like to do is replace my tall black breakfast table with a round white one.  But until I can convince myself that I need this…

I’ll do my best of make my current table work.

I created a simple center piece by using what I already owned, a quick trip to Target and an order from SeaShells.com.

From Target I grabbed the Glass Jar for less than $15.00 and the Natural Table runner for $18.00.

I ordered the Seashells in the jar from www.seashells.com for about $15.00.

The Starfish and large Seashell I already owned.

To transition from my soon to be Nautical living room into my Beach Simple kitchen I added a small wall display using 3 pieces I already owned.

Beach Sign – $17.50

Now I’m venturing even further into my kitchen and I’ve cleaned off my kitchen island.

I used another one of the natural table runners I bought at Target.  I also used 2 vintage blue bowls my Mother In Law gave me and an old white shabby chic lantern I had packed away.

A few simple changes and my husband was loving every change.  It definitely brightens up my kitchen.  So excited to move on to my entry way and finish the top of my cabinets!

I’d like to send a big thank you to Design Source GalleryTWF Designs, and Sunset Social Media Relations for a fabulous event last weekend.  I learned a ton! Thank you!

I always hate the about me section. I’m so many different things, I’m never sure how to narrow it down into a paragraph or 2. I love taking pictures, dancing in my living room, talking, I really love talking, and Traveling. I’m an Ex NFL Cheerleader, a “first wife” and now a first time mommy with a beautiful little girl. My life is far from boring and though there are times I long for boring, in the end I’d have it no other way!

  1. I love it! And I could totally use a beach sign pointing west to the beach- an hour away. Sigh.

  3. First off I want to say excellent blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your head before writing. I have had difficulty clearing my mind in getting my ideas out there. I truly do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or tips? Many thanks!
