…is now here in the USA! NEW YORK CITY’S ROCKEFELLER CENTER is the site to unveil its U.S. flagship corporate store on Friday, July 16th!
Tea is the 2nd most popular drink in the world, first being water of course. Tea is a healther alternative to Coffee with L-Theanine, an amino acid, has shown to induce a relaxed state of concentration and reduce stress. As Moms, we all know we need a little help concentrating and reducing stress! The antioxidants found in tea have been tested extensively and are known to improve overall health.
Here’s a few tips from the folks at TeaGschwendner
- The antioxidant properties of tea play a role in reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease by decreasing lipid oxidation, reducing the instances of heart attacks and stroke, and may beneficially impact blood vessel function, an important indicator of cardiovascular health. Studies have found that people who regularly consume three or more cups of Black Tea per day have a reduced risk of heart disease and stroke.
- Preliminary research suggests that drinking tea may have effects on body weight, fat accumulation and insulin activity. It is said that drinking a cup of tea with each meal is a protocol for using tea successfully as a metabolic stimulant. It’s known that tea carries four calories per serving and healthier when nothing is added. Pu-erh and Oolong teas has received the most attention regarding weight loss but every tea has a lower calorie count than we are used to consuming in more commercial beverages.
- Tea may lower the risk of certain cancers by inhibiting the oxidative changes in DNA from free radicals and some carcinogens. Tea may also promote programmed cell death, or apoptosis, and inhibit the rate of cell division, thereby decreasing the growth of abnormal cells. The National Cancer Center Research Institute in Tokyo suggests that tea is a practical method of cancer prevention that’s currently available. It has been shown that green tea lowers the occurrence of all types of cancers and has contributed to a significant decrease in digestive and urinary tract cancers.
- Although high caffeine intake has been suggested to be a risk factor for reduced bone mineral density (BMD), research indicates that drinking tea does not negatively affect BMD, and it may even play a role in bone health. A study published recently in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that older women who drank tea have higher BMD measurements than those who did not.
- Teas contain a cocktail of potent antioxidants called catechins, which help fight damage caused by free radicals. Recently free radicals have been the buzz topic in various media outlets. Free radicals are molecules that are missing an electron – they are inherently unstable, and always trying to steal an electron from the other molecules around them. Free radicals can form in your skin for a variety of reasons, including exposure to toxins. However, the most common cause of free radicals in skin cells is UV radiation from sunlight, which causes up to 90% of all signs of premature aging. Tea neutralizes and flushes the free radicals out of your body, which allows your body to grow healthy cells.
- According to Physorg.com – “Tea may be more than a trendy coffee alternative, according to researchers at the Douglas Hospital Research Centre (DHRC). Their findings, published in a recent issue of the European Journal of Neuroscience, suggest that regular consumption of either black or green tea may reduce the risk of age-related degenerative brain disorders such as Alzheimer disease.”
