If you know me, you know I love gadgets! All kinds of gadgets! So when I got an email from Microsoft telling me they’re opening a Microsoft Store in Fashion Valley. How did that sneak by me?
So here’s the deal… The new Microsoft Store is opening on the 24th of June. Yes this week. As part of their grand opening celebration, Microsoft is making a donation of technology resources to four local organizations: 211 San Diego, Girls Scouts of San Diego, The San Diego Futures Foundation and Operation Homefront. The size of the donation is completely up to the people of San Diego, and we’re hoping you’ll help us spread the word!
They created a “Local Giving” tab on their Facebook page http://bit.ly/be82ey where you can vote for one of the four local organizations. Each vote means a $20 donation to the selected organization from Microsoft, and if you share your vote with your friends on your Facebook wall, an additional $20 goes toward the organization. Voting is easy! Just simply “Like” the Microsoft Store Facebook page to begin. The donation will be presented to the organizations during the store’s grand opening festivities on Thursday, June 24. The Girls Scouts of San Diego achieved their goal last Friday and they’re hoping all the organizations can reach their goals by the time voting ends at 11:59PM PST TONIGHT!!!!!
The donation presentation will happen at 9:30am, doors open at 10 AM, and pro skater/actor Rob Dyrdek (from the MTV series, Rob & Big) will be signing autographs from 5 – 7 PM. You will also be able to pick up tickets at the opening to an exclusive concert Saturday June 26th featuring Demi Lovato!
