We have 2 Rock On Mommies expecting!!!
Here’s how Bridgette found out…
I Took a Test in the Grocery Store
So the last few weeks I have had sore boobs and been pretty run down. I think you can see where I am headed with this…
Hubby was making guacamole and we ran out of Salsa verde (a mighty fine paring with guacamole). I was dying for an excuse to go to the store and buy a test. I went, I got my salsa verde and my preger test. I paid for it at self checkout and high tailed it to the bathroom, at the grocery store. I put the test very carefully in my purse and headed to the car. I looked at it and both lines were vertical. The back line of horizontal was really faint. So I though, oh that’s too faint. Until I realized that the VERTICAL LINE MEANT POSITIVE!
Okay so let’s put aside the fact that yes I wanted one more kid and my hubby wasn’t sold on the idea yet, or that we don’t have medical insurance right now or even that I am the sole income in the house. All that aside (and trying to not totally freak out so I could walk in the house acting normal because we have company) I was excited. Our friend Mike says “You’re home, you want that margarita now? “Um…not now.” I replied.
I high tailed it to the bathroom to take the other test. They say wait 3-4 minutes but it only needed 30 seconds. There they were, the lines. The lines that say “Your freedom of sleep and car seat free lifestyle is about to change.” I hid the test and headed downstairs to do my best to not say a word. Last two times it was positive were also “surprises” and we didn’t react the best or feel super good about the situations. So this time I wanted to wait until it felt like a good time. I was going to do the whole wrap up a onsie and leave a note. I never got that far. Today I snuck in there after he was napping and he woke up. So I said “I have something to tell you” He joked “you’re pregnant” I just started laughing at him. He knew and was wide eyed. He said “I was totally kidding.” I said “I’m not.”
After 5 minutes of laughing out loud at the obserdity of the timing in our lives, he was so excited. I think we were both ready for this. Not the most ideal time but we are so excited now. Honestly I can’t tell you the exact date of my last period but I would guess that I am 3-4 weeks along. I am going to be 33 this year. I was 26 with Madilyn and so I am actually grateful to get the birthing years behind me soon. Let’s just hope that I bounce back from number 3. Guess I better start working out to keep up my energy.
Tonight I have to go take picture of Mariah Carey singing at her concert. Normally I would be excited, tonight I just want to be home. We have not told the kids and I think it’s way too early for that anyhow. When we do, they are going to be so excited. It will be Madi’s baby. I will probably have to peel her off it.
So yeah, tonight everything changes.
