The Port of San Diego Festival runs from June 30th-July 8th, at 1140 N. Harbor Dr., and includes lots of family fun with inflatables, and a Giant water slide.

On the 4th of July the Festival is the official home of the Big Bay Boom Fireworks.  This festival looks like SO much fun and best of all, it benefits the Armed Serivices YMCA!

If you are looking for something fun to do with thte family this week or wanting a fun way to celebrate the 4th of July, check out Plum District for discounted tickets.  They are $20 for 2 (regularly $20 each) and non-participating parents are free.

  Looking for something fun and patriotic to do this Memorial Day weekend?  Check out the USS Miday’s Legacy Week.  There are activities and events from May 26th – 29th including a FREE Veteran’s Wreath Ceremony on Saturday May 26th.

26th~  9am Veteran’s Wreath Ceremony: This event is for the Family and is being hosted to ”inspire patriotism and appreciation for those who serve”.  Following the ceremony, entrance to the museum is also FREE!

26th~ Three Dog Night Concert!  As part of their annual Freedom Festival there will be a concert held on the flight deck.  Click here for more information.

26th-28th~ Battle of Midway Experience: Learn all about the Battle that this ship was named for!  Open from 10am-4pm

26th-29th~  Adventure Discovery Zone:  ”military command units, special exhibits,  restoration activities, military equipment and more” located in the hangar bays from 10am-4pm.

Disney On Ice Presents Let’s Celebrate! and the P’s are SO excited to join in on the fun.

The show, produced by Feld Entertainment, will be performed at the Valley View Casino Center (formerly the San Diego Sports Arena) located at 3500 Sports Arena Blvd, San Diego, CA 92110.  Opening night is Wednesday, January 26th and shows will run through Sunday, January 30th.

Last week the P’s and I attended a private lunch with the SDMOMfia at the new Souplantation Express, to try out the menu.  The Souplantation Express opened on January 17th and is located in Bressi Ranch at 2681 Gateway Rd., Carlsbad, Ca.  The restaurant offers the same fresh fare as a traditional Souplantation but fast!  As a mommy of three this is where they hooked me…Fast, Fresh, Food!  Does it get any better?

The Souplantaion Express offers a variety of prepared signature salads and soups but you may also build your own salad choosing from an array of fresh ingredients.  They also offer kids meals that are a great healthy alternative to most restaurants and fast food places.  The kids meal includes any five items and it doesn’t have to be salad.  P1 had some of the wonton salad and also chose edamame, mushrooms, and mandarin oranges with a small cup of macaroni and cheese on the side.  P2, who won’t go near a salad or anything healthy, loved his lunch of grapes, edamame, mandarin oranges, and dried cranberries.  Of course he had the macaroni and cheese also (which, by the way, is not something out of a box)!  I enjoyed the Wonton Salad, one of their prepared signature salads and added grilled chicken, mandarin oranges, and edamame. 

You can order to go or there is seating inside.  But with the wonderful Southern California weather you will probably choose to eat on the patio!
