The BevMo!  5 cent wine sale is going on NOW and they asked me to head on in to check it out.  Here’s what I can tell you, if you are a wine lover or just an occasional wine drinker, you NEED TO KNOW about this sale!

From now until July 9th, at BevMo! you can purchase a bottle of wine at regular price and get the second of the same bottle for 5 CENTS!  (In case you didn’t do the math, that is like 2 for the price of 1!)

So I went and checked it out.  There were so many different wines to choose from.  Everything from red to white to bubbly, North Coast to Chilean.  And for every price range, too. Bottles that I saw ranged from $8.99 on up to $29.99.  I was in there so long perusing the aisles that I was asked 4 times (twice by the same employee) if “I was finding everything ok”.  Don’t worry, if you don’t have an hour to look around and search for your perfect wines, you can do it online!  Just go to and find your local store.  You can search through the wines and purchase them online, then simply go into the store and pick them up.  They will have them boxed up and ready to go for you.

The wines on sale always vary which makes it fun to try somehthing new!  The employees can usually offer great recommendations and if you buy something you end up not liking just bring it back!  With your original receipt and bottle they will exchange or refund, now how’s that for great service?!

The 5 cent wine sale is the perfect time to stock up!  I now have a variety of wines on hand to give as gifts, use for dinner parties, or just enjoy with a delicious dinner on a Saturday night.

Congratulations to Alyssa Valenzuela with comment #39 “I liked Ross on FB”!

The other day I’m making dinner and the P’s are watching a cartoon while they wait.  I’m going about my business in the kitchen when I hear “Doggy Did What Doggies Doo!” come from the TV.  I look over to see this comercial from The Doggie Doo Game:

I literally said out loud “oh you have got to be kidding me!”  So I looked it up.

The game is this; you feed the dog, you walk the dog, the dog poops!  When the dog poops you clean it up and the first person with three pieces of poo on his shovel, wins.

Oh, and the rules state “You can only pick up the dog’s mess when it has fallen on the table. When it is hanging outside the end of the dog, just tap him on the back until it drops”  I see.  So just so the kids know, never pull poop out of a dogs butt!

I have a three year old son who would find this just hilarious.  The problem?  I spend my days trying to convince him that poop, pee, and farting noises are NOT funny.

I would really like to know how business is going for them.  Tell me, would you buy this game for your kids?

If you have read my review of Boogie Wipes then you know that I love them!  They are so great to carry around for the littes ones or stick in your childs backpack for school.

Now, I’m here to tell you that they are searching for a child to be featured on the Boogie Wipes Canister.  Not just any child, they want someone whose ‘Snot Your Average Kid.  Has your Boogie Kid done something extroardinary?  Enter the Contest!

Boogie Wipes is looking for a child between the ages of 2-10 that has done something that has “possitively impacted family, friends, and comunity”.  Head over to the contest link and be prepared to write 100 words or less on why your child is ‘Snot Your Average Kid.  You will also need to upload a photo.  A Youtube video of your childs version of the story is helpful but not required to win.

When I heard mom’s from a neighboring school district talking about all the labeling they had to do for their Kindergartner I was astonished!  And quite thankful that there were NO school supply lists for our school, only donation requests per classroom.  I was hearing horror stories of carpel tunnel from labeling each individual crayon and pencil (yes, each crayon!  Not just the box!) with their child’s name.  Well parents, there is a better solution:  Mabel’s Labels!

You can purchase Label’s for lunches, labels for clothing, or the Ultimate Back to School combo to help get your child and all of their supplies ready for the school year.  Lost and Found will be a breeze with everything your child owns labeled with their name!  And for the allergy kids~  they have labels for that too!

For purpose of review, Mabels Labels sent us a combo pack to try out.  This included the bag tags, clothing labels, shoe labels, and the dishwasher/microwave safe labels for food containers.

I am pleasantly surprised that the label we put on P1′s Thermos has not come off through repeated washes in the dishwasher!

The bag tags are awesome, easy to attach to the zipper of the backpack like a key chain.  However, I think it would be a little bit easier to identify if it were a little bit larger.  On the lunch box shown here, it works, but gets lost on a larger backpack.

The labels are great for sports equipment too!  When you have a whole team with exactly the same uniforms it’s easy for things to get mixed up and lost. We put these shoe tags in her cheer shoes and used the clothing labels for her uniform.

Valentine’s Day is coming up and every year I struggle with what to get my husband!  Men have it so easy, there’s practically a written handbook on gifts for their special woman…Chocolates, Flowers, Jewelry (but not necessarily in that order!)  I don’t know about you but my husband does not want any of those.  So what says “I Love You”  to a Sports Freak, Exercise Enthusiast, Electronics Fanatic?

Brookstone had my answer!  They have a fabulous selection of Gifts for Him!

Does he like to grill?  How about a Grill Alert Talking Remote Meat Thermometer?  I seriously might get this for my husband, the man has a habit of over cooking my steak!

Or how about an A Frame Stand for the man attached at the hip to his iPad Tablet.

Maybe he’s just a big Kid at heart.  Check out the Parrot AR.Drone quadricopter-a Brookstone exclusive.

Brookstone is also offering a discount code for my readers!  Happy Shopping!

Last week the P’s and I attended a private lunch with the SDMOMfia at the new Souplantation Express, to try out the menu.  The Souplantation Express opened on January 17th and is located in Bressi Ranch at 2681 Gateway Rd., Carlsbad, Ca.  The restaurant offers the same fresh fare as a traditional Souplantation but fast!  As a mommy of three this is where they hooked me…Fast, Fresh, Food!  Does it get any better?

The Souplantaion Express offers a variety of prepared signature salads and soups but you may also build your own salad choosing from an array of fresh ingredients.  They also offer kids meals that are a great healthy alternative to most restaurants and fast food places.  The kids meal includes any five items and it doesn’t have to be salad.  P1 had some of the wonton salad and also chose edamame, mushrooms, and mandarin oranges with a small cup of macaroni and cheese on the side.  P2, who won’t go near a salad or anything healthy, loved his lunch of grapes, edamame, mandarin oranges, and dried cranberries.  Of course he had the macaroni and cheese also (which, by the way, is not something out of a box)!  I enjoyed the Wonton Salad, one of their prepared signature salads and added grilled chicken, mandarin oranges, and edamame.

You can order to go or there is seating inside.  But with the wonderful Southern California weather you will probably choose to eat on the patio!

Thankfully, this winter I’m back in Sunny California.  But last year I was caught right in the middle of the biggest snow storm that the Washington DC area had seen in decades!  I shoveled, and I shoveled, and I shoveled, and let me tell you…it hurt!  I was sore from head to toe!

According to a recent survey, 62% of Americans have aches and pains that are triggered by winter activities such as shoveling snow, being outdoors for long periods of time, and clearing ice off a car. [1]

To help combat these cold weather aches and pains, ThermaCare HeatWraps offer the following tips to keep you moving during the cold weather months.

·         Warm up before any outdoor activity – A quick 10 minute warm up can prevent hours of aches and pains. If you are going to be skiing/ice skating or even playing outside with your family, make sure to stretch and do simple conditioning like squats or lunges to get your body moving before going outside. 2

·         Pace yourself while shoveling snow – We all know the aches and pains that come from shoveling snow. However, there are certain things you can do to protect your body from getting hurt.  Try choosing a shovel with a plastic blade rather than a metal blade. Plastic blades are lighter and may do less harm on your back. Also try to take breaks and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated in the cold. While this may take a little longer to finish your driveway, your body will thank you for it later!

·         Dress warm and in layers –Minor aches and pains often feel worse in cold weather. If you are going to be outside for long periods of time, remember to wear a hat and scarf to ensure you are staying warm in the cold.

·         Wear comfortable non-slip shoes – Icy patches on roads are sometimes unnoticeable, so it’s important to do everything you can to avoid slips or falls. When you are walking to and from your car while grocery shopping and doing other chores, make sure you are wearing comfortable shoes with good traction.

·         Try using ThermaCare® HeatWraps – Reach for ThermaCare® HeatWraps when you know you have a long day of winter activities ahead of you to help keep you moving and relieve aches and pains. They are available in custom sizes for a variety of aches and pains and are proven to be more effective for back pain than the maximum dose of acetaminophen (4,000 mg). *  (* As measured after 8 hours.)

The improvements are minimal and I’m a little bit discouraged but I also missed a couple of workouts during the last 2 weeks.  I guess I should be happy that there are improvements at all!  Now, I just need to step it up and work harder…
