Did you have a chance to look at my rant about people needing to discipline their kids? No? You can view it here…
Now watch this vlog to see what could happen if you don’t discipline your kid.
Here’s a hint, her name is Paris Hilton and she’s on arrest number 4.

So what do you think? Could a few No’s have helped this girl out?

Right on. Accountability. Consequences. Lack of entitlement.
a few no ways and a couple of spankiings…by her parents. NOT by boyfriends.
she is a spoiled brat. can’t stand her.
I blame her nanny! LOL
I think it’s a generationwide crisis. A few days ago I blogged about Kids today in general –heres a portion to describe my feelings about it:
As teenagers it always seemed to me that when we would pull our teenage crap and hijinx our FIRST thought was OMG we have to make sure we don’t get caught by our parents. And Im not talking any major felonies here just the typical (what used to be considered as somewhat acceptable) teenager behavior. You know sneaking beer to a friends house, soaping some windows, harmlessly egging a few cars of the neighbors you hated or OMG I better not let my mom find out Shan’s BF ditched us and we had to walk ten blocks through the city back to her house (LMAO) etc………Now adays you WILL go to jail for that .
If we did get caught we were mortified………OMG! and not even just of the police but more so our parents! We lived in a REAL small town, you couldn’t have a glass of tap water without your neighbor knowing.
But somewhere after that it all changed. Now it seems as I watch the news or observe just in general the behavior of kids or even young adults…there is NO fear of anything! Not even the police! People will walk up and shoot you in broad daylight or snatch your purse and not even TRY to be sneaky about it. Now I am not condoning this behavior AT all…..but damn not even the criminals have pride or discretion anymore. It’s like they have this attitude of “Oh I’m just gonna do it and worry about it WHEN I get caught”…not even IF I get caught! And then the buggers sit there and brag about it like it’s a freaking badge of honor that they got caught commiting a crime that attracted the local television news!!!!
—————————————————————– End of my blog
I think theres a a 10 year gap after the Kids of Gen X who’s parent MUST have snorted too much clorox in the 80′s or something. Yes Paris was over indulged, probably never punished—But these kids have NO FEAR what so ever. They DON’T care. They don’t even care if they get caught. And I have seen it in the richest of the rich and the poorest of the poor….So for those of you who don’t believe in discipline? You ARE NOT immune to a delinquent child by social status and I don’t cry to me about it!
You know the sad part is when these people do drugs, drink and drive and then take a life–the life taken was most likely one that WAS disciplined.
It’s an epidemic that will lead to Epic fail of this society.
I really loved this because I’ve been seeing a few things about discipline lately and I can’t imagine just letting my kids do whatever they want “because they don’t like it”. My daughter is 3 and stubborn and tends to laugh at us when sent to time out or being scolded. I will NOT be responsible for another Paris. In my own blog, instead of writing another discipline item, I decided a follow up to it might be helpful. I’ve linked this page to it for the discipline discussion, but followed up with my own piece about talking to your kids. Hope you like it!
