Yes, class is hard, but it’s not just hard for me because I’m pregnant.  It’s actually an hour of my day where I feel semi-normal because class is hard for everyone!  After class I walk away with a great feeling of accomplishment.  I made it another day.

Yes, I’m still bloated, big and 8 month pregnant, but I’m still wearing my size 6 Lululemon workout pants.   I can actually still fit into any of my pants that sit on my hips! There is no way I would have fit into any of these when I was pregnant with Ellie.  I actually wore a short dress to an event last week and my husband even complimented me on my legs!  I haven’t been complimented on my legs in years!

While I’ve hit the point of my pregnancy where there’s no way to fight the ever growing belly, bloated joints and puffy face, I’m not going to stop yet.  My goal is to make it to June 23rd, 2 days before my scheduled C-Section.   I can do this!  It’s going to make it easier for me to start back 6 weeks later.

The hardest part about traveling with a newborn for us was where would she sleep?  Of course we had a pack n go, but that took up so much space!!!!! For awhile we’d lug that thing everywhere, but it got to be such a pain we gave up.

The other issue we use to have and I’m sure many of you had the same issue. I was always shocked by how many people would stick there face inside the baby carriers.  It didn’t matter if there was a blanket over it or not.  They  would simply lift the blanket to get a look at what was inside.  People!  You have germs!! Stop breathing on the newborn! Problem solved.

Here at the Rock On Mommies house, we pretty much have the same routine every morning.  Get up and rush rush rush and then rush a little more!  All so that we have time to hit the local Starbucks before we head off to school, work and for me The Dailey Method.

Like most Starbucks ours is packed every morning with a long line.

So this one particular morning I was a little extra tired from a sleepless night.  You know, that whole pregnancy insomnia thing.

 My husband was trying to be sympathetic and ask “So what did you do all night?”

Exasperated I loudly said “I watch Hardcore Porn until 2 in the morning!”

Then I noticed a silence fall over the Starbucks.  I notice my husband was starting to crack a smile.  Everyone looking at me with their jaws on the ground. The poor 20 something hot guy behind us in line was staring at me mortified. I mean can you blame him. Wouldn’t you be mortified if the 40 something, way to pregnant lady, standing there with her husband and 5 year old daughter just announced she was watching Hardcore Porn all night.

CRAP!  Palm to forehead.  ”Hardcore Pawn!!! PAWN DAMN IT! I watched Hardcore Pawn until 2 in the morning!”

Most of you know that I am addicted to reality shows.  You name it Real Housewives, Dance Moms, Storage Wars, American Pickers, and even Hardcore Porn Pawn.  I have friends who work in Reality Shows and I even have a few friends who have been in Reality shows.  I love reality shows, but I’ve always sworn I would never be on a reality show, for a plethora of reasons.  Until the other day.

I’m going to be completely honest with you.  Class has gotten harder.  My knees are not loving the 20 extra pounds I’m caring.  Neither are my arms, ankles, or any part of the rest of my body.  Thankfully the amazing instructors modify anything that gives me trouble.  On the positive side, I’m getting a great work out because I have 20 pound weight built into me! LOL

8 more weeks!!!  I can do this!

Now is when I send a shout out to twitter, because without twitter Le bébé Coo would have never found me. That means I wouldn’t know about their amazing all natural products!! So how do you show your teacher how much you appreciate them? What ever it is I’m sure you wish you could do more.  So here’s where I’m going to help you out.  Well, at least try and help.

I’m so excited to tell you all about the 2nd Annual Catalina Film Festival!  This isn’t like your normal small town film festival, this one has major stars! Think Sundance meets the beach!

The Festival runs May 4th – 6th and will feature more than 60 films, industry panels, networking and special events, including yacht and mansion parties.  The will open with the West Coast premiere of “The Magic of Belle Isle,” starring Morgan Freeman and Virginia Madsen; directed by Rob Reiner. “The Magic of Belle Isle,” tells the story of a wheelchair-bound author who moves to a rural town, where he befriends a single mother and her three kids, who help reignite his passion for writing.

Stan lee will also be accepting the Ronald Reagan Foundation’s Great Communicator Award on opening night. Following the presentation the Catalina Film Festival will be hosting an opening gala with Lee in attendance.   The part that excites me the most, a special screening of “The Avengers®” with Stan Lee.  Squee!!!

Some of the notable films this year:

West Coast premiere—“Bel Ami,”staring Robert Pattinson, Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci and Kristen Scott Thomas. Directed by Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod. A chronicle of a young man’s rise to power in Paris via his manipulation of the city’s most influential and wealthy women.

“Beauty Culture” – This short documentary on the culture of beauty was part of the Annenberg Space for photography last year and is only screening at Tribeca and Catalina Film Festival. Directed by Lauren Greenfield.

World Premiere of “Boardwalk Hempire: The Rise and Fall of the Medical Kush Beach Club” – Starring Elijah Wood (“Lord of the Rings” “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” “Deep Impact”), Stephen Baldwin (“The Usual Suspects” “Born on the Fourth of July”), Tommy Chong (“That ‘70s Show,” “Cheech and Chong,” “Half-Baked”). Chong is slated to attend. The Medical Kush Beach Club was the first and last medical marijuana store ever allowed in Venice Beach, California. This is the five-year history of the Medical Marijuana Dispensary scene in L.A.

 

“With Great Power:  Stan Lee Story” – Directed by Will Hess. Stan Lee will be in attendance.A feature- length documentary on the life and creations of Stan Lee, the co-creator of Spider-Man, Hulk, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Iron Man and over 200 other characters that can be found in comic books, movie screens, and in retail stores around the world. *During CFF, Lee will also participate in “The Anatomy of POW!,” panel (moderated by Chris Gore) with Gill Champion, Co-Founder and CEO of POW! Entertainment. Lee will also introduce a special screening of “The Avengers®” on its opening weekend during the film festival and host a VIP brunch with special guests and fans attending.

“The Immigrant”— Scott Thomson (“Kids in the Hall,” “The Pacifier”). After being deported back to his native Canada, once-famous comedian Bob London attempts a Hollywood comeback by enlisting human smugglers to sneak him across the Mexico-US border.

“Irvine Welsh’s Ecstasy” – Starring Adam Sinclair (“Mile High” “Van Wilder 2”)—confirmed to attend. Also starring Kristin Kreuk (“Smallville,” “Eurotrip”), Billy Boyd (“Lord of the Rings”). Directed by Rob Heydon. The film is based on a novel by the writer of Trainspotting.

“Confessions of an Eco-Terrorist” (Isla Earth Award)– Directed by Peter Brown. Seen through the eyes of activist Peter Brown, the film grants the viewer an intimate look at shipboard life amongst these self-proclaimed animal saviors and sea rebels who shaped the green movement we know and love today.

“Double or Nothing” – Starring Adam Brody (“The O.C.,” “Jennifer’s Body”). Directed by Nathaniel Krause and written by Neil LaBute. Clark and Becca leave a bar after a night out with friends. They pass a homeless man on the street, and Clark gets an idea.

“The Sea is All I Know” – Starring Academy AwardÒ-winner Melissa Leo (“The Fighter,” “Frozen River”), Peter Gerety (“Inside Man,” “Changeling”). Directed by Jordan Bayne. When an estranged couple, Sara and Sonny, come to the aid of their dying daughter, the experience sends them spiraling into spiritual crisis, and emotions they do not understand.
