This week we’ll be talking about New Year’s Resolutions.  We’ll also have a few give aways!

Most of us make them and 92% of us don’t keep them.  We all know what I’m talking about, the ever popular New Year’s Resolution!

We’ll be adding more Bloggers as then send in their Resolutions.

I have one post about this already and my ‘to do’ list will be posted tonight…I didn’t really make resolutions last year since we packed up and moved cross country a week after the Holidays…This year I’m doing a ‘to do’ list versus ‘resolutions’ because I think that writing down tangible goals makes it easier to stick to and attain what you are wanting for the year.

I don’t do new year’s resolutions… this way I can’t mess up!  I just like to set forth goals for myself in general like being the best mom, do well and my job and don’t torment my husband too much!

Last year, the Wii Mommies had just been created and my goal was to help as many people as possible get fit and improve their overall health without having to leave their home.  I also hoped to help everyone save money since they no longer would have to pay for a gym membership they may not even be using, as well as save the gas money if they were actually going.  I wanted a way for families to bond and for parents to interact with their children and provide an outlet for them to burn off some energy when it’s raining or too cold to go outside.

This year, my focus is on me.  I still want to carry out the goals from last year, but after all the medical issues I’ve experienced in the past year, I need to ensure I’m fit, happy and healthy.

I typically don’t make resolutions.  I say I will and then don’t.  Or I mention something that “could be” considered a resolution but then it just kinda disappears into thin air.  I honestly don’t even remember if I made any resolutions in 2009 and that means I have no idea if I kept them or not!!

This year I think I’m going to try something different.  A friend of mine posted this on her Facebook so I can’t take credit for it, but I really liked the idea.  Rather than making a resolution and setting myself up for failure (which is what happens many times), I am going to make a blank list.  This will be my New Year’s Accomplishments.  Every time throughout the year that I do something worth noting, I will add it to the list.  This could be something as simple as getting to work on time (hee hee hee) or something as big as paying off a credit card or losing a pound!!  I am going to put my blank list on the refrigerator as a constant reminder that even the little accomplishments are still big!!!

My Resolution for 2010 is to be more organized and scheduled in my work so that I can be “present” during the time I spend with my son.

Katie from La Jolla Mom

I hate new years resolutions because I feel like they set me up to fail.  I just call it a list and make it realistic.

This year instead of a Resolution, Sugar is doing a 40 by 40!

As a Life Coach, I’m great at helping others reach their goals because I work like a personal trainer would – motivating people, tough love and reminding them how awesome it feels to cross things off their To-Do List.

For small goals (exercising more often) I recommend that people schedule them in. Writing it in your calendar or setting up an alert/alarm on your phone will help you stay accountable.

Larger goals and projects are made up of many smaller tasks so keeping the projects OFF your To-Do list will keep you from losing motivation. Projects should have separate To-Do lists to keep you focused on the steps required to reach your goal / finish the project.

This is the first year in a long time I’ve made two new years resolutions and a change of life style. I’m going to make a new recipe a week and fold the socks and underwear each time I empty the dryer. Two resolutions I can keep. The other is a life style change, a new me….but it’s not a resolution, it’s just a fact that has to happen. I know tons of people say this at this time of year and really I’ve been thinking and talking about it for a couple of months, it just happened to be this time of year.
This will be the greatest year ever, 2010 will rock.

I’m going to be doing a list like Sugar — but just for this year.

My motto or resolution for the year is just to SIMPLIFY! Treasure the moments and make life simpler.

Folding socks and underwear made me laugh – hubs is always bugging me to do that. :) Not going to happen.

How about this….let’s all just enjoy 2010. Life is too short to do otherwise.
